LFH Activities

Fix It Folks

Since the conception of this all volunteer group (2007), we've accomplished many great things for our handicapped and elderly residents within our boundaries.  We've consistently been a group of residents that have pulled together and shared responsibilities and lots of fun playing side by side on projects as we've built, painted, repaired, caulked, and coerced wood into doing what we wanted it to do, all the while, trying to provide a safe home for others.  If you or someone you know would enjoy physical exercise that comes with maintaining a house, please let us know.  We are always looking for helpful happy people to join our group.  If you can donate a few hours a month or year to our cause, we would love to have you on our team.  No building/maintenance experience necessary.  Please contact Linda Calvert at lcalver1@swbell.net.

Friends of Casa Linda Park

This group is dedicated to taking care of the park, partnering with the City of Dallas Parks and Recreation Department updating many of the structures at the park such as the basketball courts, softball field, pavilion, playground equipment (installed in 2013), and pet waste stations (installed in 2015).  If you are interested in being a "friend" of the park, please contact Susan Remele at skrem8615@sbcglobal.net.

Funky 4-K Run

This fun event is usually held in the fall.  It starts at Casa Linda Park and winds around the streets in LFH.  There are other fun events and activities for the entire family.  Please contact Denise Davis at denise2389@gmail.com for more information.

July 4th Parade

The Little Forest Hills 4th of July Parade is one of the most exciting events of the year for our neighborhood.  While it's geared toward kids, we always love to see what funky outfits and floats the adults will come up with.  Contact any of the LFH Officers to find out more info.

LFH Animal Alert

Little Forest Hills Animal Alert program was established in our neighborhood to reunite lost pets in our area with their families.  Using social media (Facebook), Nextdoor, and contacts with other neighborhoods, we put the word out about a lost pet as soon as possible, to facilitate a quick reunion.  Contact Maeleska Fletes for more information:  214.930.5910 or info@lfhanimalalert.org  Click here for Animal Alert website.

National Night Out

Every year in October, we join together at the Pavilion at Casa Linda Park to meet our neighbors and local police officers and fire fighters who take care of our neighborhood and to raise community awareness about crime and safety.  Contact Albert Barbosa for more information.  lfhcrimewatch@gmail.com

National Night Out is designed to:

  • Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness

  • Generate support for, and participation in, local safety and anti-crime efforts

  • Strengthen community spirit and police-community partnerships

  • Send a message to criminals that the LFH community is organized and fights back

White Rock Lake 2nd Saturday Shoreline Spruceup (Trashtalkers)

Every 2nd Saturday at 8am, we meet at the For The Love Of The Lake ("FTLOTL") office at Casa Linda shopping Center located in the northeast quadrant of the Casa Linda Shopping Center, across from City Hospital.  There, we will collect supplies (trash bags, recycle bags, gloves and grabbers) and enjoy complimentary snacks and coffee.  We'll then head over to our assigned cleanup area, located near Lawther and Mockingbird.
